How do I get to the conference venue?    

The Westerwood Hotel, G68 0EW is conveniently situated between Edinburgh and Glasgow - five minutes by taxi from Croy Station on the main Scotrail Edinburgh to Glasgow line. Full directions

Is there parking at the hotel?

Yes. 250 complimentary parking spaces are available for guests.

Can I book for one day only at the conference?

No. Delegates can only book for either the full weekend Friday to Sunday as a weekend residential delegate or as a 2-day delegate for Saturday and Sunday.

Can we share a room at the hotel?

Yes. Two people can book together for a double or twin room. The accommodation rate for the full weekend in a shared room is £180pp, but one person must book the full room rate. Enquire at the hotel for further details.

Can I bring a non-delegate partner?

If you’re booking the whole weekend at the conference and sharing a room with a non-delegate partner, you can ask the hotel, when booking, for the rate to include a non-delegate partner.

Non-delegate partners are welcome to attend the Friday and/or Saturday night dinners with delegates. This can be paid for when booking the room, please enquire with the hotel. 

What is an Affiliate member? 

Those who belong to one of our affiliated organisations, including ACW, ALLi, Borders’ Writers Forum, Federation of Scottish Writers, Historical Novels Society, ITI, NUJ, Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland, Royal Literary Fund, SAS, SAW, SCBWI and WGGB. 

How do I book breakouts and/or one-to-one sessions?

Registered delegates will be notified when the final programme is launched at which point you will be given the opportunity to book your preferred breakouts and one-to-one sessions. If space is limited, places will be allocated on a first come basis.

I have special dietary requirements.

The hotel will cater for most specialist diets, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Weekend delegates please let the hotel know when booking your room. Registered 2-day delegates should contact the hotel if you have any concerns.

I have mobility issues.

The hotel main function rooms are all on the ground floor as are many of the bedrooms. Other rooms are mainly serviced by a lift. Please contact the hotel if you have concerns about access. Weekend delegates can notify the hotel of their requirements during the hotel booking process.

What leisure facilitates does the hotel offer?

The hotel’s health club and spa facilities can be viewed on the hotel website. Delegates have access to all the facilities and the hotel is offering a 10% discount on spa treatments to ScotsWrite delegates. The spa is often booked up well in advance at the weekend so early booking is advised.

What if I need to cancel?
