Stefan Buczacki

Stefan Buczacki is an experienced broadcaster, probably best known for his twelve unbroken years as panellist and chairman on Radio 4's Gardeners' Question Time but has presented, contributed to or written around 2000 radio and television programmes since his first broadcast as an undergraduate on a Radio 4 quiz in 1966. He has experience of recorded and live radio and television on all main terrestrial channels as well as satellite stations.

Stefan is a highly experienced non-fiction author having around 60 titles with major publishers. He has received awards and honorary degrees for his writing, broadcasting and photography including a Gold Veitch Memorial Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Garden Media Guild.

Although best known for his work in gardening and natural history, he also writes biography and socio-political history and recently published an acclaimed Churchill biography.  

He is a regular contributor to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and his latest book My darling Mr Asquith - the extraordinary life and times of Venetia Stanley will be published in 2016.
