Medical Writers Group

Whether you are an established medical writer, or are writing your first medical book, you should consider joining the Medical Writers Group of the Society of Authors. Formed in 1979, the Group offers practical help and advice to medical authors, which includes individual conract vetting and the organisation of events and meetings on matters of interest.

Medical Book Awards

One of the Group's functions has been to judge the Society's Medical Book Awards, which promote excellence in medical writing. Over the years we have been fortunate to collaborate on these prizes with Bupa, the Medico-Legal Society, the Medical Society of London and the Royal Society of Medicine Press. Unfortunately, the Awards are currently without a sponsor and are not running until further notice.
