Personal Statement: In addition to being a children's author/illustrator, I also tend the gardens of Westminster Abbey - reputedly the oldest in England. Brother William's Year was inspired by research into medieval uses of herbs and the lives of the monks who lived here for 500 years. I have also written gardening articles for magazines.
