Lynne Chapman

Personal Statement: Lynne Chapman is an award-winning children's author / illustrator with over 30 picture books, including Class Two at the Zoo and Stinky! (both featured on CITV’s Bookaboo) and the much-loved Giddy Goat (made into a touring musical). Lynne illustrates in pastels. Her drawings burst with fun and colour, bringing a whole range of characters to life. She has collaborated with Ian Whybrow, Tony Mitton and Julia Jarman but also writes her own texts (When You're Not Looking!; Baby Goes Baaaa!; Baby Can Bounce). Her acclaimed blog: An Illustrator’s Life For Me! - lynnechapman.blogspot.com - provides a candid insight into her creative life, her illustration techniques and the world of children’s publishing. Lynne is passionate about drawing and captures her world in pocket sketchbooks. She is founder of Sheffield Sketchcrawl and UK correspondent for the international sketching organisation, Urban Sketchers. She is a regular guest on BBC Radio and a lively performer at schools and festivals.
