Personal Statement: Gypsies Stop tHere was my first novel, published in 2008 and now a Kindle eBook, followed by its sequel/prequel No Gypsies Served in 2010. Retirement has given me more time to write, although I have always been an active writer, with articles and short stories published in magazines. Many jobs involved writing - working in PR and marketing. My interest in Gypsies and Travellers began when I was working in the community and more about this can be found on my blog - Miriam's Ramblings. Please find me also on Twitter. I shall soon be launching a third novel Shades of Appley Green, set in the same village but not about Gypsies or Travellers. I am also trying to complete a biography of a Romany Gypsy man which I hope to publish early in 2012. I live in Surrey with my retired husband; our three adult children live and work in London and we have just had our first delightful grandchild!
