Mr Nicholas Easingwood
Personal Statement: A former primary school teacher and principal lecturer in education in an English university, I have co-written four books and several chapters for edited collaborations concerning the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) with primary school children. Aimed at trainee and more experienced teachers, lecturers and consultants, my books promulgate the philosophy that the use of ICT with young children should be an interactive, open-ended experience which places the child firmly in control of new technology rather than being a passive recipient of the content displayed on the screen. My writings provide practical, easy to read chapters concerning how to plan, organise and deliver the ICT curriculum across the full range of subjects within the primary curriculum, as well as other key aspects such as how to select appropriate software and hardware to support the lesson and how to assess pupil work. I also have a keen interest in sport and military history.
