12 November 2012

News that the majority of Newcastles libraries are to be closed or moved over to community groups has sparked much objection from authors across the country. The exact number of libraries to be closed will be confirmed later this week.

Alan Gibbons, author and prominent campaigner for libraries, has started an open letter to Newcastle's councillors protesting this move.
