Why aren't I listed on the online database of writers/translators?

All members are now listed on the 'search for a writer' database unless they have chosen not to be listed. However, no personal information is given unless the appropriate visibility settings have been selected.

If you would like to create and maintain a profile as a writer or translator, to appear on either of the databases, please log in to the members area (using the 'Member Login' box to the left of the screen) and choose either 'Edit my Writer Profile' or 'Edit my Translator Profile'.

Your profile may include:

  • a personal statement;
  • details of your subject areas and the types of work you are prepared to undertake;
  • a photograph;
  • details of your books, with links to Amazon.co.uk, via the 'bookshelf'.

You may also choose how much of your profile you wish to make public. Please note that, to avoid any problems with members' visibility settings, in transferring the data across from the old site to the new each profile has been set to the maximum setting ('Do not display any specific contact details for my entry - I prefer to be contacted via the Society').

Please feel free to contact Anna Ganley if you have any queries, though you may find our instruction sheet answers your questions.
