Tracy Chevalier FRSL is an American-British historical novelist who has published eleven novels. Her second book, Girl with a Pearl Earring, has sold over five million copies, won the Barnes & Noble Discover Award, and has been made into a film, a play and an opera. She served on the SoA Management Committee from 2004 to 2008 (as Chair 2006-08), and was a member and later Chair of the Advisory Board for UK Public Lending Right. She was a Trustee for the British Library for nine years, and was the President of the Royal Literary Fund from 2016 to 2018. She is currently a Trustee of the Dorset Museum and Art Gallery. She is an Ambassador for the Woodland Trust and the charity First Story, and is a Patron of the charity Fine Cell Work, Dorchester Literary Festival, and Lyme Regis Museum.
