Vineet Lal studied French at the University of Edinburgh and Princeton University, and received one of the inaugural Emerging Translator Mentorships in 2010. He has translated several well-known French authors including Guillaume Musso and Grégoire Delacourt, along with two collections of short stories for children. In 2020 he was a virtual Translator in Residence at the National Centre for Writing.
