Isabel Thomas is a science writer and the author of more than 160 books for children. She’s been writing for children for 15 years, five alongside roles in children’s publishing and ten as a full-time writer.

Publishers include Bloomsbury, Collins, DK, Laurence King, OUP, Penguin, Quarto, Raintree, Scholastic and Wren & Rook. Isabel also write features for children’s magazines Whizz Pop Bang and The Week Junior Science + Nature, and outreach resources for organisations such as the Wellcome Trust and Alzheimer’s Research UK. She regularly runs author workshops and talks.

In 2019, events included Cheltenham Science Festival, Bournville BookFest, Oxford Literary Festival, Paris Book Fair, Wimpole History Festival and BBC Women’s Hour. She lives in Cambridge with her husband and three young sons, where she is a primary school governor and completed an MPhil in Educational Research, focusing on writing in science.
