The Cornish Chapter is a very informal group which meets on a regular basis around five times a year. Cornwall has a very ancient magical landscape that has inspired many famous writers such as Daphne du Maurier and Winston Graham's Poldark series - hailed as a British 'Gone with the Wind' drama. We are proud of our unique Cornish history and one of our top priorities is to encourage writers as yet unpublished.
Our meetings are relaxed which often feature guest speakers and authors to share a topical aspect or theme of their work. Our most recent guest speaker, who worked as a Midwife for UNICEF in Africa, gave a very vivid account of her journeys there and how it has informed her work. Other speakers talk about the journey they have made as an author which is often a continuous search for original material. We also have open forums on themes including agents and publishers and offer advice and support to one another.
