"Trained at Cambridge, I've been a General Practitioner since 1976 and a writer, speaker and medical broadcaster since 1985. I also teach medical students for Cambridge University. My particular interests are medical IT, depression, musculoskeletal medicine and medical politics. I have a wide-ranging knowledge of the sciences, the arts and religion, and am particularly fascinated by the way knowledge from one discipline can help in the deeper understanding of another (for example, IT and neuroscience).
I write regularly in the medical press on medical politics and medical IT and have had a total of eight books published: two on IT; one on depression; one on headaches; one on stress; and three novels."
