Born in the Midlands, and living in Brighton via Amsterdam, Mo Fanning's first book - The Armchair Bride - was shortlisted for the Arts Council Book of the Year in 2012. There was much merriment when it crept into the bestseller lists for five random minutes. A second novel - Having it all - recalled eight expat years in the Dutch capital.

 

In 2013, a short story book, This is (not) America featured material written for BBC America and The Guardian. 2017's Five Gold Rings features seasonal shorts. A third novel - The Toast of Brighton - is due in 2018.

 

Mo lives in Brighton with his husband and a labrador named Ernie.
