Xenia lives in the Scottish Highlands with her husband and two adopted whippets. The natural beauty of the Highlands and her long-term involvement with animal rehoming shelters are a constant inspiration for her poetry and prose. She blogs at Whippet Wisdom - A Highland Journey and Tranature - Quiet Moments in Nature, where her action, macro and nature photography accompanies her writing.
She holds degrees in French Studies and Applied Linguistics from Birkbeck College, University of London, and a Postgraduate Degree in Creative Writing from Newcastle University.
Her poems and writings have appeared on television, in literary journals, magazines, websites and anthologies. 'Sharing Our Horizon', her first collection of poetry and images created to help raise funds for animal rehoming shelters, was published in September 2018.
She published her second collection 'Between Heather and Grass - Poems and Photographs Filled with Love, Hope and Whippets' in October 2019. Thirty per cent of net profits from the sale of this book will be shared with Children with Cancer UK, in memory of her nephew Jamie Baker. Another thirty per cent of net profits will be shared with animal rehoming charities.
