Polar explorer as a young man, then a geography lecturer, then a publisher and writer who moved into fiction in 1999 with the best-selling Angel Mountain Saga of 8 novels (so far). Published output - more than 90 books. Areas of interest -- historical fiction, prehistory, social history, folklore, landscape, glaciers and the Ice Age. One children's book, published 2010 and winner of the Wishing Shelf Award (judged by the young readers themselves). Brian's most recent novel is a thriller called "Acts of God" set in Greenland during the Cold War and published in November 2015. Past Chair and commitee member of the PENfro Book Festival, held at Rhosygilwen in Pembrokeshite every September.
Currently involved in a literary tourism project called "Martha Morgan Country" -- designed to promote North Pembrokeshire -- the setting for the 8 novels of the Angel Mountain saga.
Also involved with a number of Welsh organizations in promoting folk tales (old and new) as invaluable componts in the community "sense of place." Has recently placed a compendium of 500 Pembrokeshire folk tales online for free public use.
